With so much talk about remote learning and the unknowns about next school year, I’ve had several people reach out with great questions about digital badging and ways to use them to engage students at home. I think it’s a great strategy to encourage student voice and choice, and it also helps you, as the teacher, see what topics are resonating with your learners.
So, to help more people feel comfortable starting this conversation around digital badges, I wanted to provide a little game-based activity that highlights badging vocabulary.
If you can’t speak it, you’re probably not going to do it. So here’s a Google Drawing interactive I built to help start this conversation.
Understanding the difference between evidence and criteria can help you design your activities more clearly. Remembering who the earners are versus the issuers can also help you talk more clearly to your learners about it all.
Hopefully this can help more people get closer to shifting their routines for learning. Make a copy of the Google Drawing and solve the puzzle. Have fun, and let us know how your program might be shaping up!
